Kids Fishing Adventure

About This Trip

Three hours, close to home, and built around one thing: keeping kids catching. We stay in the protected water around Sebastian Inlet and fish the docks, bridges and channel edges where there is almost always something willing to bite — Mangrove Snapper, Spotted Seatrout, Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle, small Snook and whatever else is around that week.

Short rods, light tackle and live shrimp, so there is bending and pulling rather than long waits. Capt. Richard does the baiting, the unhooking and the coaching. Parents are welcome to fish too, or just sit back and take photos.

Three hours is deliberate. It is about as long as most kids stay genuinely interested, and short enough to work around nap times, lunch and a drive home. If your kids are having the time of their lives at hour three, that is a much better ending than a four-hour trip that ran out of steam at hour two.

Good to Know

• Price covers up to 4 guests. Each additional guest is $75, up to 6 total.
• Minimum age is 2. There is no upper limit — grandparents are welcome.
• Bring snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats. Kids burn faster than they think.
• We stay in protected water, so this trip runs on days when offshore trips will not.
• If the weather turns or the kids have had enough, we head in. No argument.
